  1. Mumtaz:

    Thanks.

As we discussed over the phone, there are a large number of options available for your family. We work with over 20 different insurance providers and each can offer a range of maternity and dental plans.

For maternity, I would recommend OIC and Bupa as an insurer as they have one of the best maternity plans on the market. When looking at maternity, it is recommended that you look for a plan that will cover -

      - high routine maternity benefits
      - high complications of maternity benefits
      - newborn coverage (for potential premature births or congenital conditions)
      - a good range of hospitals/doctors

I've already sent you over some options. Please have a look and let me know when you're ready to discuss the options further.

I am in the UAE now, but I do not have a residency visa yet due to the company set up taking time. I don't have any travel insurance or medical cover. Can I get cover now? Thanks

    1. Miro:

      Hi Paul,

Thank you for your question. Only local providers such as Daman or AXA Gulf will require a residence visa to apply. However there are a number of options you can pursue to obtain cover without a visa. For most of our international insurers (OIC and Bupa, NOW HEALTH, WILLIAM RUSSELL, etc) they will not require a residence visa to enroll as an individual. As for applying as a company, you will only need a company trade license to apply. I suggest you speak with one of our consultant that can provide you with more information and perhaps a quotation for plan that can offer you cover without a visa.

      Hi Mary,

Thank you for your inquiry. Yes, we do work with both corporate and individual plans.

However, in order to send you a quotation, we'd need more information as rates are dependent on ages, benefits requested, etc...

Also, where is your company located?

Mary, I've sent a full email to the address you've left. It lists in detail the information I need to send you a quotation.

Please fill that in and send that back to me, and I'd be happy to send you over the details as soon as possible.

      Dear Niles,
Thank you for contacting us about your medical insurance. I will be happy to assist you with your wife's maternity plan. However, I don't have enough information at the moment.
I am based in Dubai, so if you want, I'd really recommend meeting and going over this in person in our office. Sometimes, it's much easier to just take 30 minutes to go over it all together so you can really understand your plan.
So that I can help you find the most accurate and suitable options, could you please let me know:
      • Where in the UAE do you live? Dubai? Abu Dhabi? Sharjah?
      • Is this also where your residence visa is from?
      • When do you need this coverage to start?
      • Whether there are any pre-existing conditions that need covered by the insurance?
      • Do you have any preference of hospitals?
Please get back to me as soon as it is convenient for you, I will then compare all suitable insurers and send you a comparison table within the day.
Please note that all insurers will have a waiting period for maternity benefits (unless you are in Abu Dhabi), so if she buys the plan now, became pregnant in December, and was due in September, her benefits will not be paid for UNTIL her waiting period has passed which can be anywhere from 6 - 12 months depending on the insurer. If you are in Abu Dhabi, then you're fine. It will be covered.
As you may already know, our service is completely impartial and free.
I look forward to hearing from you.
      Kind Regards,

Hi. My wife is 25 years old and is 2 months pregnant; I am looking for medical insurance (including maternity) for her and our 4 year old child.

    1. Lucy:

All insurers ask that a woman be on the plan for a certain amount of time before they will cover a pregnancy, due to this waiting period unfortunately no insurer will cover the current pregnancy.
If you cannot get maternity cover it is still important to take medical insurance. Medical insurance offers you peace of mind in the knowledge that if something unexpected happened to you would be covered and not be confronted with extremely large medical bills.
What I suggest instead is taking a plan that will cover your wife and child for inpatient or inpatient and outpatient conditions, unrelated to the pregnancy. What I also suggest is ensuring that this plan will cover the newborn when he/she is born, i.e. if the newborn is born with any conditions he/she will be covered immediately. This is very important because newborn cover can be extremely expensive if paid out of pocket.
      Many thanks.

I would be glad to help you find the most suitable policy for your family. usually, price depends on the age, medical condition, level of coverage, and location. If you are just looking for UAE coverage only, we do have AXA Gulf, Oman, Daman, etc., they are a local company in the UAE and specializes in local coverage only, if you are looking for international coverage, with comprehensive benefit from hospitalization, clinic visit, specialist, dental coverage, etc., we have BUPA, Aetna, NOW Health, Allianz, William Russell, etc. I would be happy to send you a quote, but first I would recommend for us to speak via phone or in person, so that I can better understand your needs and how I can help to find the most suitable policy for you.

My daughter has currently insurance from my company but as she will finish her studies the insurance will stop. She has a pre condition and is a lupus patient. I would require insurance for her and appreciate if you could advise.

    1. Samantha:

Hi Cirilo, I would be glad to help you find a most suitable insurance policy for your daughter. There are a few insurers that will cover minor pre-existing conditions, such as asthma, high blood pressure, and high cholesterol. However, all insurance company required for you to submit your application to them for review before they can confirm if they will cover it or not. It is free to submit your application for assessment and they will come back with their decision to, cover the condition, exclude the condition, put the condition on a moratorium, or decline the application overall. Usually for cases like lupus, from our experience, most insurer will exclude the coverage of this condition. Nevertheless, it is always a case by case basis for all pre-existing condition.
      Kind Regards
