      All insurance companies have a waiting period that applies to Maternity cover, that means if the Insured is pregnant at the time of application no benefit for maternity will be provided.
      As your wife is already pregnant we have limited options to consider. That being said the plans from NOW health have a unique benefit where you may add your child onto an existing policy (within 30 days of being born) and your child will not be medically underwritten. This means that any condition(s) your child may be born with will be covered under the NOW health plan. From my experience there is no other insurance company in the market that will provide this benefit for woman who are already pregnant.
      Depending on the plan you choose from NOW health, the coverage for your new born child will vary:
      • Essential/Advance - $100,000 per annum
      • Excel – $125,000
      • Apex – $150,000
