Get Rollin'

There are a number of bowling centers is Dubai allowing teenagers to test their skills against each other in a fun and friendly environment. The Dubai International Bowling Centre is the biggest and best - a state of the art bowling and recreation centre established in 2001. With 36 lanes, it is the largest bowling facility in Dubai and in the Northern Emirates as a whole. With a number of leagues and tournaments, as well as billiards tables and a video games arcade, there is something to keep teenagers of any age entertained.

Go Skiing

It may be 40 degrees Celsius outside, but that doesn't mean you can't don your goggles, gloves and jacket and take to the slopes. Located in the Mall of the Emirates, Ski Dubai is the first indoor ski centre in the Middle East and can be enjoyed all year round by kids, adults and teenagers alike. There are a huge range of activities including skiing, snowboarding, tobogganing, or simply getting involved in a good old fashioned snowball fight.

With 22,500 square metres of terrain and five runs that vary in difficulty, height and gradient, there's something for everyone - whether they've never skied or are a seasoned pro. Also worth checking out is the colony of Gentoo and King penguins that call Ski Dubai home. An unmissable experience, it is possible to see the penguins up close and personal for an exclusive and rare interaction with these remarkable birds.

Visit the Water Parks

With a year round temperate climate, the water parks in Dubai offer a great way to have a fun day out and keep cool at the same time. Without a doubt one of the best ways to wile away a day, the water parks in Dubai are among the best in the world. The two most popular water parks are Aquaventure and Wild Wadi. Wild Wadi is situated in front of the stunning Burj Al Arab and features 30 rides guaranteed to leave you breathless including the Jumeirah Sceirah, the Burj Surj, and the latest addition to the park, Tantrum Alley.

Aquaventure, based at the Atlantis in The Palm Hotel, features some of the most heart thumping waterslides you can imagine. Set over 42 acres, Aquaventure is home to many species of fish, stingrays and even sharks which can be seen when sliding down some rides.

Swim with Dolphins

Dolphin Bay, also based at Atlantis The Palm, is one of the world’s most sophisticated dolphin habitats. Set in a half hectare lush tropical setting modelled closely on dolphin’s natural habitat, Dolphin Bay offers a range of incredible, once in a lifetime experiences for teenagers.Visitors can enjoy a close up experience touching, hugging and playing ball with the animals, and even go for a thrilling dorsal fin tow across the lagoon. Qualified scuba divers can dive the depths of Dolphin Bay lagoon alongside resident dolphins.

Go on a Hot Air Balloon Tour

If you are looking to see more of Dubai, there are few better means to do so than by taking to the skies in a hot air balloon. Leaving the hustle and bustle of the city behind, the three hour long balloon ride begins at sunrise and gently floats across giant red sand dunes, emerald green oases, gazelles and wandering camels. A truly unique experience, hot air ballooning offers a unique perspective that you can only see from the sky.

Travel on a Desert Safari

The Dubai Desert Conservation Reserve is an expansive area encompassing 225km2 of a sand dunes desert ecosystem. Home to 57 plant species, over 120 birds and 43 mammals and reptiles including the Arabian Oryx, the reserve presents a great opportunity to see some of the region’s wildlife up close. The reserve is dedicated to conserving the biodiversity of the Arabian desert, and presents a unique chance for teenagers to experience its natural beauty. A huge range of activities can be undertaken within the region: camel rides, viewing falconry, horse riding, archery, dune driving and even sand boarding for the more adventurous.

Head to the Mall

A universal pastime for teens across the globe, heading to the mall in Dubai is a great way for teenagers to stay entertained for the weekend or during long holidays. Dubai is renowned for its malls, with the Dubai Mall and the Mall of the Emirates being amongst the best known. Teens of all ages are sure to be entertained: they can go to the cinema, visit the aquarium, go ice skating, head to the arcade and of course peruse the enormous range of retail outlets. When visiting the Dubai Mall, an essential experience is viewing the Dubai Fountain. The world’s largest dancing fountain, the Dubai Fountain shoots water as high as 500 feet (the equivalent of 50 stories high) and has shows throughout the afternoon and evening.

Head to the Top of the World

Nestled amidst Dubai is one of the most impressive structures in the world. The Burj Khalifa is the world’s tallest building and presents an amazing chance for teenagers to see Dubai from a completely different angle. At 124 floors high, the Burj Khalifa allows a full 360 degree sweeping view across the entire city, with unparalleled vistas of the Gulf to the Arabian Desert and beyond. When visiting Dubai, a visit to the observation deck is a must do, offering a once in a lifetime experience that is not easily forgotten.

Hit the Beach

Dubai has a huge range of beaches, and with average temperatures reaching a high of 30 degrees Celsius (86.0 Fahrenheit) from April until November, the beach is a great way for teens to take the edge off the heat and unwind. Many of the beaches are privately owned by resorts, but there are a number of free beaches for teenagers to enjoy the temperate weather along with a range of fun activities: jet-skiing, parasailing and diving, as well as just relaxing and enjoying the warm, clear blue waters.
