Kuwait Travel Tips

Language

Although Arabic is the official language of Kuwait, English is also widely used and spoken. Most traffic signs are written in both languages.

Internet

Kuwait has internet kiosks in most urban areas, which you can access for a small fee.

Telephone

Kuwait’s international call rates are very high, but if you use the “New2Phone” booths, it can be very cheap. Skype is banned in Kuwait.

Accommodation

Hotels are expensive. A night at a regular hotel will generally cost about $200 USD. Visitors are also recommended to bring ear plugs as there are publicly announced prayers broadcasted at 4:30AM and 5:00 AM, and several times throughout the day.
